Whilst Glenn trekked his way across the UK, Jamie was busy spreading the word throughout South Africa.
As you can see by the map, much of South Africa now hosts an
XLR8® franchise and resource centre with several more pending in 2006.
The Bronze XLR8® course was launched successfully into the provinces indicated in the map and attracted a great deal of interest, largely thanks to Syd Rappaport and the team at S&A Marketing.
They
did a wonderful job in the lead up to the launch and
provided excellent support throughout. We are very confident that this region in times ahead will provide us with some of the most successful and resourceful
XLR8® trainers.
Of great significance to the program is the interest from both Pretoria and Bloemfontein Universities in including the
XLR8® Program – Bronze Silver and Gold Levels into the Final Year Sports Science Curriculum. Whilst in Capetown we were delighted to see Dr Sherylle Calder (Sport Scientist: Visual & Skills Coach Springbok Team), attend the course and hope to further this association in the near future. Her interest in the new colour ladders and Skill-Tec Balls will be used as part of the “Visual” program. This along with Dr. Derik Coetzee (Head Springbok Conditioning Coach), readiness to endorse the program will certainly see
XLR8® grow in 2006 with a truly international flavour.
But it wasn’t just the sport science community who were getting in behind the course. Welcome Nkita (previous holder of 6 World Boxing Titles) and Jacques Nienaber (Super 14 Cheetahs trainer), were also amongst the participants ready to
XLR8®. Perhaps though, one of the most exciting developments occurred in a second trip to South Africa only weeks after the first. After the South African Football Association (SAFA) getting wind of the ambitions and strength of the XLR8 program. Mr Zola Dunywa (Director of Football Development) asking the
XLR8® team to become a part of the National program, particularly in preparation for the 2010 World Cup. His actual words “Thank you so much – empower us!”
The South African Website www.speedpower.co.za is currently under construction, and at present you are able to enter the website and will have links to the Speed Power and Stability Systems and
XLR8® International websites.
So exciting times ahead and a brilliant start to XLR8® South Africa. With Bronze courses ongoing throughout the year we hope to launch the Silver program into South Africa during August / September. Thanks to all those who participated the launch of the
XLR8® Program and your support.
