SPSS - Matthew Bell Joins the SPSS & XLR8™ Team

Matthew represented New Zealand Cricket from 1998/99 to 2001/02. The highlights in his career were his maiden test century against Pakistan in Hamilton 2000/01 and hitting the winning runs in New Zealand’s first-ever test victory at Lords in London in 1999/2000.

Matthew also represented New Zealand at the 1998 Kula Lumpur Commonwealth Games where the New Zealand Cricket Team won a bronze medal.

Matthew moved to Wellington in 1997, after playing for Northern Districts for 3 years and captained the Wellington Firebirds through 2000/2001-2005/06 winning two first-class championships and one one-day title.

During his cricket career Matthew completed a Bachelor of Business Studies Degree with an emphasis in Sports Management at Massey University in 2004. He still has huge ambition to play test cricket for New Zealand again and continues to play cricket for Wellington where he holds the record of having scored the most first class centuries (16) with Bruce Edgar.

His role at SPSS and XLR8® International is to specialise in the research and development of cricket specific applications for all relevant training equipment, to develop written and visual education material and provide resident expert training advice.
